Questions & answers
Every answer starts with the answer. Detail follows only where it changes how you should use ToMyCal.
Getting started
How do I turn an email into a calendar invite?
Forward the email to add@tomycal.com. Muffin reads the event details and emails a calendar invitation back to the address you sent from. You do not need an account, an app, or a password.
Can I forward an email and receive a calendar invitation back?
Yes. That is the whole service. Forward any email containing event details to add@tomycal.com and Muffin replies to the sending address with a calendar invitation.
Can I send event details without forwarding an email?
Yes. Write the details in a new email to add@tomycal.com. A date, a time, and what the event is are usually enough.
How do I save Muffin as a contact or forward faster?
Download the Muffin contact card from the Save Muffin page, or copy add@tomycal.com directly. That page also documents an Outlook Quick Step named Forward to Muffin. ToMyCal never sets up automatic forwarding rules.
Access and privacy
Does ToMyCal read or monitor my inbox?
No. ToMyCal only ever sees the individual emails you deliberately send or forward to Muffin. There is no inbox monitoring and no background access.
Do I need an app, a browser extension, OAuth, or a password?
No. ToMyCal never asks for inbox access, calendar access, OAuth permission, or your email password. You use your existing email client exactly as it is.
Does ToMyCal connect to my calendar?
No. Muffin emails you a standard calendar invitation. Your own email or calendar application decides what to do with it.
What happens to the content I send?
Event content is held only for as long as it takes to prepare and deliver your response, then removed from the durable product database. ToMyCal keeps your sending address and limited usage, preference, delivery, security, and legally required records so allowances and abuse controls can work.
Is my email processed by AI, and is it used for training?
Yes, an AI provider is used to find event information, and no, submitted content is not used to train AI models. ToMyCal uses reviewed third-party email, cloud hosting, database, and AI providers to deliver the service.
Content and attachments
Can an attachment, PDF, screenshot, or photo become a calendar event?
Yes. Muffin supports PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC. A free email may include one attachment page up to 10 MB. A paid email may include up to 10 pages and 20 MB.
Can one email create multiple or recurring events?
Yes. One email can produce several separate invitations, and Muffin understands recurring schedules. A single submission may produce up to 20 calendar items.
What happens if my attachment is too large or too long?
Muffin does not process the attachment and says so plainly. It never silently picks the first page or one image. Usable text in the email body is still processed.
What languages does ToMyCal support?
ToMyCal officially supports English at launch. Muffin may understand event information in other languages, but accuracy is not guaranteed.
Invitations and results
Does ToMyCal work with Gmail, Apple Calendar, and Outlook?
Yes. Muffin sends a standard calendar invitation that ordinary email and calendar applications understand, including Gmail with Google Calendar, Apple Mail with Apple Calendar, and Outlook.
Why did my calendar ask me to accept or open the invite?
Your email or calendar provider decides that, not ToMyCal. Some providers place an invitation automatically and some ask you to accept it or open the attached invite file. No emailed invitation can override those settings.
How does Muffin handle timezones?
Muffin uses a timezone stated in the content, or one established by a clear physical venue. When a timed event has no safe timezone, Muffin creates no invitation and asks you to resend with a statement such as "My timezone is Central Time", which is then saved as your default.
What if the email is unclear?
Muffin creates no invitation and names the one detail that is missing. Nothing is invented. On the free allowance, an unclear result does not use up a successful email. On a paid plan, it still counts as one of your emails for the cycle, because reading it costs the same either way.
Can Muffin change or cancel an event I already added?
No. Muffin has no access to your calendar. A correction produces a new invitation you can add, and a cancellation email tells you what to delete or decline yourself.
Pricing and billing
What counts as a successful email?
One email you send that produces at least one calendar invitation. It counts once even when Muffin creates several invitations from it. On the free allowance, only a successful email counts toward your total; an email Muffin cannot create an invite from is on us. On a paid plan, every email counts toward your monthly total once Muffin processes it, whether or not it produces an invitation.
Does the free allowance reset each month?
No. The first 10 successful emails are a one-time allowance counted against your email address. When you have used them, you can upgrade to keep going.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
Free covers your first 10 successful emails, with one 1-page attachment up to 10 MB per email and no account. That allowance is one-time rather than monthly. Pro gives you 100 emails processed and 100 attachment pages every monthly usage cycle, with up to 10 pages and 20 MB per email.
What are the payment terms?
$3.99 per month. It renews automatically until you cancel, and cancelling keeps your access through the period you have already paid for.
What is Frontier?
$999 per year, with entitlements identical to the $3.99 plan. It adds no features, now or later. It exists for anyone who would like to support the service, and as a comment on how software involving a language model tends to be priced. The $3.99 plan is the real one.
How do I cancel?
Cancel at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal and your paid access continues through the date you have already paid for.
Muffin and support
Who is Muffin?
Muffin is ToMyCal's calendar assistant. Muffin receives what you send, finds the event information, prepares the invitation, and explains anything that could not be prepared. ToMyCal is the service behind Muffin.
What is Playful mode?
Playful mode is an optional setting for paid subscribers that adds one short line after a successful result. It is off by default, never appears before the result, and never appears on unclear, failed, or billing messages.
How do I report a problem with a playful line?
Every playful line carries a short reference. Use the reporting link in the response to send that reference to support. The report does not include your event content.
How do I contact support?
Email support@zirovm.com. Include what you expected and what happened. Please do not resend sensitive event content unless it is needed to resolve the problem.
